Stacey Henry, First District Success Readiness Team Lead, has been collaborating with 16-year-old Imani Henry, CEO of the nonprofit 100 Men Reading organization for the past four years. Together, the partners have:

• Hosted several programs to support literacy in Wilmington and statewide

• Written and supported self-published children’s books such as Imani and Her Magical Fairy Readers and Football, Basketball, Lost at School, Peanut Butter

• Organized a summer bookmobile throughout their community

On December 2, 2017, Stacey Henry and the First District Success Readiness Team hosted the 15th Annual Education and Literacy Day in partnership with various community partners and organizations. Over 300 children and their families attended.

On this day, kids involved in the Just Write! Wilmington Creative Writing Series also unveiled their original self-written books to the community.
